What youre looking for is PoE (power over Ethernet) cameras, they get powered by the Ethernet cable. You run the cable, plug in the camera and youre done. Then if youre worried about the camera talking to a server somewhere, put the switch all the cameras are plugged into behind a firewall that blocks them from connecting to anything outside of your network.
