You nailed it. Education is important and it's the baseline of society. But there is far too much waste. If I can't trust them with the money that's already being given, then why should I give more? You're confusing your ideal with the reality. Public school is a daycare with worksheets. Teachers don't build their own curriculums. They teach from a book. They're just following a program. Yes, there are some incredible educators out there. They get to see your student for 1 year. If your student is lucky, they'll find a second great teacher, but that's not the case for most.
